LIFE INTERVENTION MINISTRY
SIDEWALK COUNSELING AT OUR LOCAL MILLS

QUESTION:  WHY SHOULD CHRISTIANS COME OUT TO THE ABORTION CLINICS TO PRAY, WORSHIP AND INTERVENE ON BEHALF OF OUR UNBORN NEIGHBORS?  SOME ANSWERS FROM THE BOOK WE ALL LOVE TO READ.

Proverbs 24:11   Rescue those who are unjustly sentenced to death; don’t stand back and let them die. 12 Don’t try to avoid responsibility by saying you didn’t know about it. For God knows all hearts, and he sees you. He keeps watch over your soul, and he knows you knew! And he will judge all people according to what they have done.

Luke 18:16    Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, "Let the children come to me".

Isaiah 59:15-16  The LORD looked and was displeased to find that there was no justice. He was amazed to see that no one intervened to help the oppressed.

INJUSTICE?

As Christians we are to be concerned with the concerns of our Lord. He is concerned about injustice of any kind.  In our day when the killing of a child is not only legal, but our own brothers and sisters in the church are participating, we must pray for the mind of Christ and then  do as He directs us.  I hope that some  of you out there will ask the Lord if he  would have you  to stand up for justice and mercy for the unborn by coming out to one of mills.  Call me if you want more information.  722-1449

REVIVAL?

Christians who yearn for revival in American Christianity should consider the probable relationship between innocent bloodshed (abortion on demand) and unanswered prayer for revival.

Isaiah 1:15-17  From now on, when you lift up your hands in prayer, I will refuse to look. Even though you offer many prayers, I will not listen. For your hands are covered with the blood of your innocent victims. 16Wash yourselves and be clean! Let me no longer see your evil deeds. Give up your wicked ways. 17Learn to do good. Seek justice. Help the oppressed. Defend the orphan. Fight for the rights of widows.

WHERE CAN WE STAND UP AND HOW DO WE DO IT?

The  following are the advertised abortion mills in our area.  They are all listed in the yellow pages and each of them sell the service of killing a little preborn boy or girl in the  womb, doing so weekly.  Our presence on the sidewalks in front of these locations is completely legal and still protected by our First Amendment right to speech and assembly.  Some local ordinances have been passed to try and stop our presence but our Christian lawyers have won significant cases in our courts and we face no real  (that is those that are not falsely made against us) legal or civil actions for our Christ like actions at the mills.  It is a lie of the other side that we can not legally come to the sidewalks of the clinics.

What do we do at the mills?  Our first action is to pray.  We pray for forgiveness for ourselves and our nation.  We pray for God to use us to save babies and souls.  We pray for the salvation of the clinic workers and escorts.  We pray for our churches and our pastors.  We pray for God's favor in what we do and for grace and truth to permeate our presence.

We worship with prayer, singing worship songs and reading the scriptures out loud and silently.  Catholic brothers and sisters faithfully come out and pray according to their traditions.

We offer saving literature to the women and men coming into the mill. To those whom we can talk with face to face, we offer "sidewalk counseling" which consists of a compassionate presentation of the alternatives to abortion; fetal development, how abortion hurts women and men; adoption possibilities and the services of local crisis pregnancy centers.

We call out to those whom we can not reach in person to "love their baby", to "choose life" and we offer to adopt any child that is unwanted.  When a woman decides for life we help her to get to the pregnancy help centers or to meet immediate needs.

We evangelize by sharing our Christian faith with all who will listen.  We give away Bibles and specially designed New Testaments made for women in Crisis pregnancies.  Each year we have the opportunity to lead men and women to a saving relationship with our Lord.

We do use graphic pictures of actual abortions and we contrast them with pictures of life.  (Eph 5:11) One of the pictures we use as  contrast is a drawing of Jesus holding a young woman to His breast.  Some Christians object to the use of the graphic pictures.  They object, believing that good Christians would not show such objectionable material in a public place.  To them we try to gently report that the pictures are the truth of a violent act that happens almost 4000 times daily in America and that they do save  babies weekly across the nation.   Planned Parenthood and the abortion providers lie to  our nation, calling what these horrible pictures report as being "choice", "reproductive freedom" or "clumps of cells."  As Christians we are to bring light where there is darkness.  We are to expose  evil.  We are  to offer love, mercy and real help.  We are to destroy the works of  the devil.  The use of the pictures, coupled with our other actions, carry forth these Biblical directives.

99.9 percent of prolife Christians do not participate or endorse any kind of  violence unlawful acts against abortion providers.  Amazingly, there seems to be great judgments, even among Evangelical Christians, that prolifers who come out to the abortion mills are not loving and compassionate.  They usually come to these judgments by impressions conveyed by the same liberal media  that distorts most of Christianity.  Why are they (liberal media) believed?

Bud's Note:  I hope the above will help each of you to better understand what  we do and why.  I will come to your church, Sunday school class, whatever, to make a presentation on why it is imperative that Christians  wake up from our slumber, repent, turn away from our indifference, and begin to seriously reach out to our neighbors in the womb who are perishing as well as confronting the injustice of child killing in our society.  You may call me at (916) 261-3421
